Data Exchange with XML

(Available in all extension stages of IQ-Software)

Open standards offer the possibility to work with data from different applications. XML is the state of the art for intra application communication. APIS IQ-Software offers an extensive XML interface which converts text and contextual information into an open format. This interface works in both directions so that you can also import information into IQ software using XML.

The Document Type Definition (DTD) for the XML interface is an open standard. Here is an example of an XML instance derived form the standard example document (works best with Internet Explorer).

Style sheets can be used to present the contents in various ways. IQ Software offers a small example for this purpose, which is basis for further future developments.

The XML format is also a long term archiving format, because the information therein is self contained and requires no specific IT infrastructure (operating system, application software).
